About this range
The Zehn is our answer to the chair that has to be bought forty at a time. It is the lowest priced task chair we will put our name to, and the line we drew is that it still adjusts: seat height, tilt and arms, all of it, because a fixed chair bought in volume becomes forty people who cannot sit properly and one manager fielding the complaints.
The back is a mesh panel in a matt black powder coated round tube steel frame, which is the plainest construction in the range and also the hardest to break. The seat is plywood with automotive grade high density foam, the same seat build as chairs costing considerably more. The visitor version sits on a matt black powder coated cantilever sleigh frame in 25 mm cold rolled steel with a 2.5 mm wall, with a one dimensional armrest fitted.
Highback, midback and visitor versions are made, so a call centre floor, its team leaders and its interview rooms all match. Armrests, base, castors and mechanism are chosen here, and the frame can be chromed. Any fabric in the library covers the seat, priced in bands. Made to order in South Africa, two to three weeks, delivered and installed in Cape Town, guaranteed five years.
