About this range

The Xara is the lightest looking chair in our task range, and that is the point of it. In a project room with six chairs round a table, or on a row of hot desks nobody owns, a bank of heavy chairs makes the space feel permanently occupied. The Xara has a slim mesh back that lets you see the room through it, and it is easy to pick up and move to where the meeting actually ended up.

Light to look at is not the same as light built. The back is injection moulded nylon with adjustable lumbar support, the seat is plywood with automotive grade high density foam, and the components are BIFMA certified, which is the same specification we put under people who sit in one chair all day. The visitor version is a matt black powder coated cantilever sleigh in 25 mm cold rolled steel with a 2.5 mm wall, with a one dimensional armrest fitted.

Highback, midback and visitor versions are made, so a project room and the desks around it can match. You choose armrests, base, castors and mechanism here, and the frame can be chromed. Any fabric in the library covers the seat. Made to order in South Africa in two to three weeks, delivered and installed across Cape Town, five year guarantee.
