About this range
The Atlas is built for a chair that is never empty. Control rooms, security desks and anywhere running shifts put three people through one chair in a day, which is roughly three times the working life a normal office chair is designed around. It is rated for 24 hour use and for heavier loads, and it runs on a class 4 pneumatic gas cylinder rated to 150 kg.
The construction is deliberately plain and heavy rather than clever. The back is plywood with medium density foam and the seat is plywood with automotive grade high density foam, and the components are BIFMA certified. There is nothing on this chair that exists to look good in a photograph, because the places it goes do not get photographed.
It is made in one version, which is the honest answer for a chair specified by duty rating rather than by appearance. The mechanism is chosen on this page. Any fabric in our library covers it, and for a chair in continuous use the easy clean and PU bands are usually the sensible call. Made to order in South Africa in two to three weeks, delivered and installed in Cape Town, guaranteed for five years.
